Chick Pea Curry Bowl

One of my new favourite comfort foods, this is a really quick meal to prepare, super nutritious, and the combination of spices has tremendous healing properties.

1 tbsp of olive oil
2 onions diced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tbsp fresh chopped ginger
6 whole cloves
1-2 tsps each (to taste) of crushed dried cinnamon, ground cumin, ground coriander, cayenne pepper, and ground turmeric
salt (to taste)
2 cans chick peas
4 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro


1) Heat oil in a large fry pan over medium heat, fry onions until soft. 2) Stir in garlic, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, cayenne, turmeric, sat and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly. 3) Mix in chick peas and their liquid, continue to cook and stir until well blended and heated through. Remove from heat, stir in cilantro and serve over rice. Options: Mix in some chopped tomato, top with steamed spinach, or serve over soba noodles.
