One of the challenges of having a busy yoga business is that sometimes your own practice can suffer when you are giving so much of your time and energy to support the practice of others. It often starts with not having enough time today, but tomorrow for sure. Or today you’ll take a pass because you are just a bit tired or sore from a long day of teaching…but before you know it it’s been weeks since you dedicated some time to your own practice.

One of the ways that you can keep a daily practice even on the busiest of days is to pick 3 or 4 essential techniques that will keep your body/mind in balance, and commit to them daily. It can be hard to find the time and energy sometimes for a full practice, but we can all find 10-15 minutes to relax, re-balance, work on those areas of tension or weakness that – if left unchecked may lead to injury – and of course enjoy some of that delicious present-moment-ness that comes from the moving meditation of body and breath that is Yoga.

So, if you were your own client (and you are!) what 3 or 4 techniques (postures, breath work, remedial exercises etc) would you prescribe for home practice? Why not plan them into your day for the next 7 days and see what evolves from there?
