Description
Yama and Niyama Cards
Free Yoga Resources
Yama and Niyama are the first two limbs of the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga philosophy and serve as a foundation for practice, meditation, and self awareness in all aspects of life. Yamas are ethical disciplines that guide our social conduct. Niyamas are observances for personal care and behaviour.
Further limbs include the familiar practices of Asana – physical postures and Pranayama – breathwork, but, in Ashtanga or Vinyasa Flow Yoga our practice is first grounded in the guidelines for social conduct, behaviour, and self care that we find in the Yamas and Niyamas.
These cards can serve as a guide for you in your practice and your daily life. Print them, cut them out, and pick a card each day to inform, inspire, and support your practice.
