After years of faster-paced, higher-intensity yoga dominating the modern postural yoga landscape, there is a growing trend towards gentler, more accessible forms of practice.

Gentle Yoga has emerged in response to busy lives, changing bodies, chronic pain, aging, and a deeper understanding of the importance of rest and nervous system support.

Gentle Yoga offers a practice grounded in comfort, ease, and simplicity. Rather than pushing toward goals or peak poses, it invites mindful movement, supportive breathwork, and restorative rest – creating space for mobility, awareness, and self-care.

This approach is both personal and professional for me. As an older yogi living with a chronic pain condition, Gentle Yoga has became an essential part of how I maintain a sustainable relationship with movement. Through gentle mobilization, supported postures, and deep rest, I found a way to keep practicing yoga with more ease and trust in my body.

The Gentle Yoga Online Course has been more than five years in the making, shaped by my own lived experience, 30 years of teaching, and conversations with yoga teachers seeking more inclusive and adaptable ways to support their students.

About the Course

The 50-hour Gentle Yoga Online Course is a continuing education program for yoga teachers and movement professionals who want to confidently offer accessible, inclusive, and well-supported classes.

You’ll explore:

  • Gentle mobilization and joint care
  • Simple, thoughtful sequencing
  • Choice-based and invitational teaching
  • Breathwork and guided relaxation
  • Practical use of props and variations

This course focuses not just on what to teach, but how to teach – supporting students of different ages, abilities, and life experiences.
