Living Yoga – Navigating Challenging Times with Yoga Ethics

Some days feel heavier than others, and lately there have been more of those heavy days than I’d like to admit. The political and environmental chaos of the past few years has been deeply disturbing and often quite disorienting – as though the stable ground of the world we’ve known (or, at least thought we knew?) is shifting beneath our feet on a regular basis.

It can be hard to know what to do, especially when so many of the challenges in our world feel too big, too complex, or beyond our immediate reach. Without a lot of tangible actions that seem to meet the enormity of the moment, I’ve found myself turning inward and moving more deeply into my study and practice of yoga ethics.

For me, this has been a way to steady the ground beneath my feet – to remind myself that the choices I make each day matter, and that living with awareness and integrity is itself a form of action.

As part of this work, I’ve shared some video discussions on yoga ethics in recent months, and will continue to do so, in hopes they might support your practice, your lifestyle, and the ways you engage with your community, world events, and environmental action.

I don’t have clear answers, only the sense that these teachings give me perspective, direction, and a way to stay connected to what matters most.

Question for reflection:

How are you navigating these times? Is your practice of yoga, meditation, or ethics offering you support, grounding, or clarity right now?
