Congratulations to Yoga Trinity grad Eli Haski on winning the ACT nomination for the Fitness Australia Active Communities Award! I first met Eli through my husband Chris and he told me about this amazing woman who was teaching fitness and movement class for those living with mental illness. Eli undertook Trinity Yoga Teacher Training to add yoga to her programs, and has made an incredible contribution to her community through her teaching.
The national award is being announced mid-October, so let’s all put some intention out there that Eli is acknowledged nationally for her contribution to an active community, and making mindful movement accessible to all.
Here’s what Eli has to say about her program:
“I won the nomination based on a class I have been teaching for the past 4 years for YMCA ACT in conjunction with City Mental Health called Positive Steps. I teach people with mental illness and have made amazing bonds with my clients. They have taught me so much and I am thrilled to be receiving this honor. With all the classes I teach my main aim is that my clients leave feeling successful and proud of themselves for having done something positive for body and mind. I’m so blessed to have so many amazing clients that nominated me for this award, so I’d like to thanks them for their dedication to my classes and to themselves. The national award winner is being announced mid October so stay tuned to see how I go.”
