Thai Massage Masters Series: Therapeutics in Thai Massage

Developing highly customized massages for Pregnancy, the Elderly and more

14-hr Foundations
No Prerequisites

In this class we will cover therapeutic applications for giving highly effective and customized Thai Massages for populations in need. We will start by looking in depth how to massage for pregnancy as well as for the Elderly and what it means to explore the softer side of Thai Massage.

We will also learn a variety of new postures. Then with our remaining time the floor will be opened up to students to bring case studies they would like to explore.

Thai massage is especially well-suited for women seeking relief from the natural stresses of adapting physically, mentally, and emotionally to pregnancy. Designed with the goal of promoting relaxation and wellness, this course addresses many common concerns of pregnant women, with a focus on the needs and limitations characteristic of each trimester.

Similarly, working with the elderly is one of the most rewarding ways to give Thai massage and the methods taught in this course are equally effective in serving these members of our community who are both underserved and urgently in need of compassionate touch.

For students looking to expand their niche and increase their client base, developing an expertise in pregnancy and elderly massage is a wonderful opportunity to grow ones practice.

After completing this course students will be able to:
• Complete a 60-minute, full-body Thai massage session for pregnant or elderly clients, as well as those who require a softer touch;
• Understand the unique needs of these populations and important contraindications for specific massage techniques and postures; and
• Address common ailments and discomforts associated with pregnancy and the aging body.
